St Attracta’s v St Michael’s – All Ireland Senior Colleges B Championship Semi-Final

Wow! St Attracta’s Community School are certainly the school of the season in Sligo so far! Not happy with just winning the All-Ireland Under 16 Girls Basketball they have now reached the All-Ireland Final of the Senior Colleges football after a stunning and nail biting victory over St Michael’s Grammar School Lurgan in Tempo, County Fermanagh. This one was epic and a real pleasure to photograph.

We’ve just posted a small sample of photos from the Connacht Colleges Senior B Football Final between St Attracta’s Community School (Tubbercurry, Sligo) and St Louis Community School (Kiltimagh, Mayo) which was played last Saturday (13th March) in Charlestown.

Great result for the Sligo lads – we look forward to following them in the All-Ireland series now.

Ursuline College v Scoil Mhuire Strokestown – Pat The Baker Connacht Post Primary Schools Senior C Final

We went down to Boyle on Friday last to photograph Ursuline College v Scoil Mhuire Strokestown in the Pat The Baker Connacht Post Primary Schools Senior C Final. It was a beautiful day – perfect for free flowing football. We got some cracking photos and got to enjoy a really entertaining game of football.

Sligo Grammar School v Salerno (Jesus and Mary) – Connact Schools Senior Hockey Semi-final

We finally got to shoot some Hockey! Sligo Grammar School against Salerno Salthill at the Sports Complex. Took us a while to get up to speed with the ebb and flow of the game but was very enjoyable (apart from the score that is). Photos from the game and be viewed and ordered here or instore.

Summerhill College v Clifden Community School – Connacht Schools Senior Cup

We got to photograph Summerhill College in the Senior Cup against Clifden Community School recently. The game ebbed and flowed but thankfully the ‘hill’ came out on top! Photos can be viewed here and instore immediately.

Sligo Grammar School v Marist College Athlone

Sligo Grammar School’s Senior Rugby team had their first outing in the Connacht Schools Senior Cup on Tuesday last. Open, running rugby was the order of the day with lots of tries and action on offer – ideal fodder for sports photography.

Sligo Grammar School v Summerhill College – Senior Friendly

Normally any game involving these two schools is safest photographed from a bunker, with a flak jacket on! But this was a much more amiable affair. A chance for the squad players from both schools to get some rugby under their belts before the Connacht Schools Senior Cup Proper starts. It was a most enjoyable game (for Summerhill) and a great chance for this shooter to see some of the up and coming talent in both schools – in combat – so to speak.

Summerhill College v Calasanctius – Schools Rugby

Big thanks to Colin Gillen for helping us with the coverage of the game between Summerhill College and Calasanctius in the Connacht Senior Schools Development Cup Semi-final. The weather was pretty awful – really heavy fog – which has lead to some pretty unusual photos.
