Work for us!

At the moment we don’t have any full time positions available at Shooting Stars – we do however have a number of other ways that you can work with us:

• Freelancer Photographers:
  There are times when we simply have too many great games going on for us to be able to cover them all. This is where you’d fit in. For the right shooters we’re happy to provide you with a cover fee plus commission on sales derived from your work and of course copyright will remain yours – you’ll just assign us a right to use your images. Interested? If you’d like us to consider you for upcoming jobs please just email us along a sample of your prior sports or action work for consideration (or call into our Showroom). Commissions and fees negotiable.

• Stock Shooter:
  So you’ve got a back catalog of sports images sitting on a hard drive somewhere doing nothing? Well if your collection contains images featuring Sligo teams and players (preferably youths) in action we’re interested! We’re eager to build out our archive of great sports images. Copyright will remain with you the shooter – you’ll still own the images but you’ll assign us a right to sell and develop products with them. In return we’ll pay you a commission on any image sales we make. Ideally your stock would be shot in RAW or maximum quality JPEG and be capable of being up-res’d for large format printing. We are happy to work with film shooters as well (we can provide a scanning facility for 35mm and medium format stock). If you’d like us to consider your collection then please just email us along a sample of high res files for consideration. Commissions negotiable.
  

• Trainees/Interns:
  Interested in becoming a Sports Shooter? Then you’ve come to the right place. We have a number of opportunities for trainees to come and tag along with us on some shoots. We’ve supply any equipment you’ll need (all Nikon Pro gear) and provide all the guidance required to get you up and running as a second camera or assistant shooter.  If you’d like us to consider you for one of our trainee positions/internships please stop by our Showroom at 12 Market Street with a portfolio of your photography (it doesn’t matter what genre it is – we just want to see if you have an eye for it).  Prior experience using an SLR would be an obvious advantage. Please note that this is not a full time position, nor does it pay anything – it’s an opportunity for you to learn about Sports Photography in a practical manner. If you’re really really good you never know – we may consider you for a full time position.
